Attorney Jonathan Portner talks about the three most important things to remember in order to maximize recovery in an accident injury case in Frederick, Maryland. First, set a defense when dealing with the insurance companies. While it may seem like the insurance company is on the side of its driver and working for its driver, they are only worried about two things: settling the claim as quickly as possible and paying as little money as possible for the claim. The best thing to do is not speak to the insurance company. Second, go on offense and do not just sit back and let things happen on their own. Treatment must be sought when an injury occurs in an accident because in order to battle the billion dollar insurance companies, medical documents are necessary to be able to show the extent of the injuries. Third, it is necessary to have a top-of-the-line case management system. The best law firms are ones that communicate with the client on a regular basis, providing regular updates on everything going on. The best law firms are also those that have numerous offices that are easily accessible with a staff that is reachable all the time in order to answer any questions the client may have.
