Donald Thompson to serve on NC Board of Science, Technology and Innovation
Raleigh, North Carolina (PRWEB) October 21, 2015 -- Donald Thompson, NC-based technology executive, has been appointed by Pat McCrory, Governor of North Carolina, to the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology and Innovation (NC BSTI). As a state-authorized advisory board administered by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology & Innovation encourages, promotes, and supports scientific, engineering, and industrial research applications in North Carolina.
The mission of the Board is to improve the economic well‐being and quality of life of all North Carolinians through advancing science, technology and innovation. Donald’s appointment to the NC BSTI will provide a unique perspective on development of businesses, promotion of tech-based startups, recruitment of millennials and fostering diversity in NC technology, all of which have been a focus for him in his career over the past two decades.

As the CEO of the technology company, I-Cubed, where he was given the reigns at age 36, Donald dramatically grew the organization with no outside capital from 16 to 130 employees recording annual revenue growth of 30%, from 2008-2013. In 2014, I-Cubed was acquired by the global technology enterprise, KPIT.
Currently, Donald serves on the Board of Directors for iCiDIGITAL, a spin off business from I-Cubed, is Executive Chairman for O3 Creative, serves on several upstart company boards and is also franchise owner for the Navi Mumbai Sabers of the Elite Football League of India.
