CodingCon 2015: Practical, Interactive, and Specialty-Specific Training in Coding, Billing, and Compliance is Slated for December
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) October 21, 2015 -- The Coding Institute, LLC will host CodingCon 2015: The Most Interactive Specialty-Specific Coding Conference in Orlando, Florida from December 2-4, 2015. In response to customer requests, CodingCon will offer a unique, practical, and interactive teaching approach with classroom training sessions led by nationally recognized expert instructors. Numerous research studies have proven that the human brain retains information more readily with interactive learning. Each CodingCon session will include hands-on practice exercises, tests for understanding, and rapport building with fellow attendees, instructors, and class facilitators to improve learning outcomes. Instead of laboring through tedious lectures, attendees will learn new concepts and apply their skills immediately through hands-on activities. Instructors will lead attendees step-by-step through hundreds of 2016 changes for CPT®, specialty training on ICD-10, and up-to-the-minute advice on modifiers, NCCI edits, ABNs, NPPs, counseling, radiology, HIPAA privacy and security, revenue cycle processes, and auditing. Instructors will also train attendees on coding, billing, and compliance trends and specialty-specific rules, guidelines, regulations, hot topics, and industry tools of the trade.
Each year, CodingCon educates a wide audience of healthcare professionals, including medical coders, billing and collections specialists, auditors, compliance managers, coding and billing managers, consultants, physicians, nurse practitioners, practice managers, and administrators.
This year, CodingCon will not only provide numerous opportunities for practical learning and 18 CEUs, but the conference will also take attendees out of their seats for the most ground-breaking educational techniques in stress relief: ICD-10 Anatomy: Learning in Motion, yoga-based exercises led by chiropractic physician and kinesiology expert, Danny Porcelli. Dr. Porcelli trained extensively in chiropractic sports medicine and was chosen for an international program in Bogota, Colombia where he treated speed skaters and Para-Olympic Triathletes at the 2010 Central American Games. Dr. Porcelli will lend his expertise to attendees outside in the Florida sunshine with invigorating foam rolling, therapeutic taping, and stress-reduction exercises targeting key body sites. Dr. Porcelli will review how the exercises, which improve mobility, stability, and motor control, can treat many types of conditions, including orthopedic diagnoses. Nikki Taylor, MBA, CPC, COC, CMPA will work alongside Dr. Porcelli during the pre-, main, and post-conference exercise sessions, instructing attendees on the ICD-10-CM codes that correlate to the conditions and anatomy Dr. Porcelli will review.
“Everyone is going crazy over this,” says Jennifer Godreau, CPC, CPMA, CPEDC, Vice President of Development and Operations for SuperCoder and CodingCon. “At a lot of conferences, there is a high level of information overload. This is where they (attendees) come for healing their bodies – rejuvenating, relaxing, palliative (type) treatment – to work out stress, headaches, and back pain. Attendees will get a higher ROI here than at any other conference.”
CodingCon 2015, conveniently located at the Caribe Royale Hotel Orlando, minutes from Walt Disney World®, offers twelve specialty tracks including Orthopedics, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Family Practice, ICD-10, and more, with over 70 training sessions. Expert instructors will cover CPT® 2016 code changes, evaluation and management coding and medical necessity, increasing office efficiency, overcoming scheduling roadblocks, coding from operative reports, burn and trauma coding, and coding well visits, diagnostic testing, and immunizations, along with many more trending topics on coding, billing, and compliance. Six pre-conference training sessions include coding and billing strategies for midwives, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, and fighting payer audits, while nine post-conference sessions cover coding remotely, setting practice fees. Attendees can improve their workplace communications skills in the post-conference session, Boost Your Communications IQ with Confidence, led by national coding textbook author and instructor, Beth Rich Martin, which includes practical and fun activities to eliminate communication barriers and raise self-esteem.
Hundreds of attendees from across the U.S. are expected to attend CodingCon 2015 where they will network with peers and exchange experiences, ideas, and best practices.
