Lance Hosey FAIA of Perkins Eastman Selected as 2015 LEED Fellow
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 20, 2015 -- Perkins Eastman announces that Lance Hosey FAIA, Principal and Chief Sustainability Officer, has been named a 2015 LEED Fellow by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). This year’s 35 Fellows are being honored for their outstanding work as LEED Professionals and for the significance of their contributions to the green building community at large. The LEED Fellow designates the most exceptional professionals and it is the most prestigious designation awarded from GBCI.
“Lance is a remarkable individual who has long been a leader in the green building movement,” said Rick Fedrizzi, CEO, GBCI and CEO and founding chair, U.S. Green Building Council. “His expertise and excitement motivates all of us to continue to look ahead to what’s next and to continue the innovation that has been the hallmark of our movement. Sharing his passion, knowledge and commitment, Mr. Hosey anchors both the past and the future of our movement."
To be selected, LEED Fellows are nominated by their peers, undergo an extensive portfolio review, must have at least 10 years of experience in the green building industry and hold a LEED AP with specialty credential, among other requirements. The evaluation process is carried out by the LEED Fellow evaluation committee.
“Since coming aboard last May, Lance has quickly distinguished himself here as a team leader and visionary in sustainable design,” says Bradford Perkins FAIA, CEO and Chairman of Perkins Eastman. “This is a true honor for Lance and a well-deserved one.”
Hosey is one of approximately 200 LEED Fellows and one of only two dozen design professionals who are Fellows with the both the USGBC/GBCI and the American Institute of Architects. He currently chairs the USGBC’s LEED Advisory Committee and serves on the Advisory Group for the AIA’s Committee on the Environment (COTE). A prolific author, Hosey launched Architect magazine’s first sustainability column, and his writing has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Metropolis, Architectural Record, and The Huffington Post, among others. Hosey’s latest book, The Shape of Green: Aesthetics, Ecology, and Design, was a finalist for 2014 Book of the Year at the National Urban Design Awards and has been Amazon’s #1 bestseller for sustainable design.
The 2015 LEED Fellows will be recognized in Washington, DC, at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, which is being held Nov.18-20, 2015.
