The 6th Annual ASA Sponsored Run For The Warriors® is a race that honors the sacrifices of the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and the families of the fallen. The race coincides with the ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2015 annual meeting and marks the sixth consecutive year of ASA sponsorship.
“Hope For The Warriors® is extremely grateful for all the support the ASA community provides to the Run For The Warriors® national race series,” said Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors® President. “Each year it helps expand our outreach efforts to restore hope to military families around the country.”
General registration for the run is $40, $25 for veterans and active duty service members, $10 for children 10 and under, and free to Gold Star families and wounded warriors. Same day registration will be available. Awards will be announced and presented to the top three male and female overall finishers for the 5K, followed by age group top finishers. For more information please visit the race website: http://www.hopeforthewarriors.org/2015SanDiego.
Run For The Warriors® races are unique events dedicated to the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and families of the fallen. It is a celebration of their strength and resolve and a promise to continue restoring self, family, and hope. The goal of each race is to establish a long-term understanding and respect for the needs of local military families in their communities. The Run For The Warriors® race series also provides wounded service members encouragement and the opportunity to pursue the sport of running, walking, or cycling to assist in their physical and emotional rehabilitation.
All proceeds from the Run For The Warriors® will benefit Hope For The Warriors® (http://www.hopeforthewarriors.org), a national nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
