International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues to grow its Corporate, Energy, and Restructuring practices with the addition of Allan D. Reiss as shareholder in the New York City office. Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Reiss was a partner at Morgan Lewis.

Reiss counsels financial advisors, underwriters, issuers, investors, and funds on corporate and securities transactions across a variety of industries, including energy, shipping, and renewables. He is experienced in public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, and has special expertise in high yield debt and master limited partnerships, or MLPs. Reiss also advises clients on out-of-court debt restructurings of distressed issuers, and on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

"Allan’s experience greatly complements our capabilities in the areas of structuring and executing high yield debt offerings, as well as the formation and financing of master limited partnerships—particularly with regard to energy and energy-related companies," said Richard A. Rosenbaum, chief executive officer of Greenberg Traurig. "He is a known force in the high yield restructuring and capital markets world. His skills will also be a significant asset to our clients in a wide range of industries beyond energy, including hospitality and shipping, in a very volatile marketplace where clients need real answers.”

“I am thrilled to welcome our new colleague, Allan Reiss, to the firm’s energy practice group,” said Kenneth M. Minesinger, co-chair of the firm’s Global Energy and Infrastructure Practice. “Allan’s MLP and energy transactional experience is a perfect fit for our platform, our client base, and our growing practice group.”

“I was drawn by the depth and breadth of the firm's capabilities and resources across the board that will allow me to not only grow my practice but best serve the needs of my clients on a global scale,” said Reiss. “I look forward to being able to call on the experience of more than 1,900 colleagues who have real world knowledge of how to efficiently address client needs across time zones and borders.”

In addition to the Oct. 1 opening of Greenberg Traurig’s Berlin office with 55 attorneys, since January, the firm has added more than a dozen of highly experienced attorneys to its Corporate & Securities Practice, including Anthony L. Perricone and Nanette Aguirre in New York; Victoria Reggie Kennedy in Washington, D.C. and Boston; Stacey T. Kern in Chicago; Christina A. Tate in Dallas; Dorothee Fischer-Appelt and Joel Wheeler in London; José Raz Guzmán and Miguel Moisés in Mexico City; Flora R. Perez in Ft. Lauderdale; Benjamin P. Butterfield in Orlando; Marc L. Druckman in Miami; Thomas B. Romer in Denver; James A. Dempsey in New Jersey; and Koji Ishikawa and Koichiro Ohashi in Tokyo.

The firm has also strengthened its Energy & Natural Resources Practice with the recent additions of Derek J. Anchondo in Houston and Gregory K. Lawrence in Washington, D.C. and Boston.

The 2015 Annual Law and the Boardroom Study lists Greenberg Traurig as one of America’s top corporate law firms. NYSE Governance Services and FTI Consulting, Inc. conduct the study. The "America’s Best Corporate Law Firms" list reflects the views of more than 500 participating directors and general counsel of publicly traded companies, who between February and April 2015, participated in the survey and weighed in on current governance and legal matters. The top 25 law firms, based on number of votes received, are included in the ranking.

Greenberg Traurig’s Corporate & Securities Practice comprises more than 400 lawyers who advise public and privately held companies on global mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, private equity and venture capital, underwritten and syndicated offerings, commercial finance and syndicated lending, cross-border transactions, and general corporate matters. The group’s industry experience includes transactions in a wide range of fields, from the pharmaceutical, medical devices, and life sciences fields, to representations involving clients in the aviation, banking, energy, health care, manufacturing, technology, and telecommunications sectors.

Reiss holds a J.D. Columbia University Law School; an M.A. from The Johns Hopkins University; and a B.A. from Columbia College. He is also fluent in French and German and conversant in Hebrew, Italian, and Spanish.
