Jack will focus his practice on intellectual property (IP) litigation and prosecution, with a particular emphasis in the area of patents. A licensed professional engineer in Virginia, Matney previously worked as an engineer at The Dow Chemical Company. A former examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Matney’s practice covers an array of technical subjects and his experience includes automotive and manufacturing, technologies relating to textiles, narrow elastics, dye formulations, laser treatments, sheet metal processing, catalysts, thermoplastics and air and water pollution treatment devices.
Matney is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia, as well as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He earned his J.D. degree from George Washington University Law School, and B.S. from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
