“We’re pleased our communities have such a positive impact on residents and their families,” said Kai Hsiao, president and CEO at Holiday Retirement.

Six Holiday Retirement communities were selected as “Caring Stars” of 2016 as part of an annual nationwide program honoring service excellence based on consumer ratings and reviews posted on Caring.com, the leading senior care website. In reviews from families, seniors, and others concerned about assisted living and Alzheimer’s care, each winning Holiday community captured a five-star consumer rating (the highest possible score) while also meeting other qualifying criteria for the honor.

“We’re pleased our communities have such a positive impact on residents and their families,” said Kai Hsiao, president and CEO at Holiday Retirement. “And we’re thrilled that five of this year’s recipients were repeat performers from 2015. It’s a tremendous honor to receive this recognition two years in a row.”

Holiday Retirement’s 2016 Caring Star communities include:

  •     Hawaii Kai – Honolulu, Hawaii
  •     Isles of Vero Beach – Vero Beach, Fla.
  •     Mission Commons – Redlands, Calif.
  •     Ormond in the Pines – Ormond Beach, Fla.
  •     Spring Haven Retirement – Winter Haven, Fla.
  •     Sunset Lake Village – Venice, Fla.

Families across the country are increasingly seeking insights provided by online reviews to help guide important senior care decisions for aging or ailing loved ones. In multiple research studies conducted by Caring.com, the majority of family caregivers have indicated that they used online consumer reviews when researching senior living communities and two-thirds took to the internet after noticing signs of memory loss in a loved one. The Caring Stars award helps families narrow senior living options for their loved ones to the communities most-acclaimed by families like theirs.

"Prospective residents and their family members want high-quality senior living services, and the Caring Stars award helps steer them in the right direction by showing which communities American consumers love most," said Caring.com CEO and co-founder, Andy Cohen. "Congratulations to the assisted living and memory care communities achieving this recognition of service excellence, and thank you to every family caregiver and older adult who took the time to share their feedback in reviews!"
