$15,000 is Up for Grabs: WyzAnt Announces Their 6th Annual Scholarship Contest
CHICAGO, Illinois (PRWEB) October 22, 2015 -- WyzAnt, the leading online marketplace for private tutors, today announced their 6th annual scholarship contest, which awards $10,000 to the first place winner, $3,000 to the first runner up and $2,000 to the second runner up.
“A college education is increasingly important, and yet, it’s more difficult to attain for today’s students than ever before,” says Andrew Geant, CEO and co-founder of WyzAnt. “Competition and cost may continue to rise each year, but with a base of 85,000 highly rated tutors teaching over 200 subjects, WyzAnt is helping students succeed. We’re honored to help the winning students of our annual scholarship make their dreams a reality.”
According to a recent report published in the New York Times, the average student graduates with $23,000 in debt. With $10,000, the winner of the WyzAnt scholarship will essentially be able to cut that debt in half. To date, WyzAnt has awarded $70,000 to students to help out with the cost of college.
To enter the WyzAnt Scholarship Contest, applicants will be asked to complete an essay 150-300 words in length in response to the following prompt: “Describe in 300 words or less a person who has inspired you.”
Applicants must create an account and publish their essay before May 1, 2016. Students who are 16 or over and are attending, or plan on attending a 2 or 4 year college in the United States within the next two years are eligible to enter. Full list of official rules here.
