Last Concert Cafe Announces October Lineup
Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 21, 2015 -- Each month, Last Concert Café is ecstatic to host some of the most entertaining performances by great bands and musicians. For the month of October, Last Concert has some new artists in store for café-goers. The month’s lineup goes as follows:
Oct. 23: Jon Wayne & the Pain
The electronic reggae-dub has created a unique sound that sets them apart from other electronic, dubstep and reggae music of its time. Come hear the fusion of electronic beats, upbeat traditional reggae roots and a topping of grooving funk that will keep souls dancing and moving until the last note is played.
Oct. 24: Russian Festival
Oct. 25: TKoh!
What started as a friendly hang out has resulted in seven years of successful music-making and touring under the name of TKoh! Including some of Houston’s greatest musicians, this band will take the stage and focus on funk and soul form the early ’70s.
Oct. 30: Pigs On The Wall
A Pink Floyd tribute band that will stand apart from any others previously heard. Take a trip through a nostalgic land with these classic throwback tunes.
Last Concert Café has even filled their café and concert-goers in on the shows to follow in the beginning of November. Plan ahead and mark the calendar! The following November shows are already in the works:
Nov. 1: Souldig
This band will rock the house with groove-based funk, jazz, soul, rock and even R&B and Latin sounds. Based in Houston, Texas, this group will continue to impress the fans in their hometown. Check them out ahead of time: http://twitter.com/souldigmusic
Nov. 5: Papa Mali
This singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer takes the stage, putting his own spin on American vernacular music. His live performances compare to nothing else, taking his solos to a whole new level. This bluesman swirls in blends of blues, funk, swamp music and soul: a classic New Orleans sound. Influenced by the blues and root sounds from the Rolling Stones, expect pure, raw talent at this performance.
Nov. 6: TURKAUZ with Roxy Roca
TURKAUZ will fill the room with a healthy dose of jitter, world-pop power grooves and the passion for R&B will not be easily overlooked. For a refreshing twist on funk, TURKAUZ is the set to see. With Roxy Roca on the side, a night for grooves is definitely in store for the audience.
Nov. 7: KPFT Benefit – Hearbyrne
Performing music of Talking Heads, a live concert will take place in the style of “Stop Making Sense” while adding in song selections from each phase of Talking Heads’ history.
Nov. 8: Keep Gina Walking
This HelpHOPELive benefit in honor of Gina Massingill takes place from 3 p.m. to midnight on Sunday at Last Concert Café where Mexican cantina will be served and live music will entertain. Performing is Eric Tessmer Band, Room for Three, Robin Kirby & Friends, The Romeo Dogs, and ASR Trio. A silent auction and other activities will also take place. Ten percent of proceeds will go to HelpHOPELive in honor of Gina to assist with some of her transplant-related expenses.
