Sponsoring a booth and walking at the Out of the Darkness event is a terrific opportunity for us to raise awareness of a devastating issue that touches both our clients and our staff.

The Advocator Group, LLC is proud to be sponsoring a booth and sending a team of walkers to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) Out of the Darkness walk on October 31st. AFSP is a not-for-profit organization that hosts community walks throughout the country each year. Net proceeds from these events are used to help understand and prevent suicide through not only medical research, but education and personal relationships as well.

AFSP executed 400 Out of the Darkness walks in 2014, with over 180,000 participants. Community walks constitute the largest source of AFSP’s fundraising. By signing up for a community walk or making a small monetary donation, one individual can help raise awareness of suicide warning signs, educate those who are struggling on all of their treatment and support options, and could help AFSP directly impact someone’s life.

The Advocator Group shares this passion for educating and inspiring struggling individuals to overcome adversity with intentional relationships and personalized advocacy. The company has formed a team of walkers with significant fundraising goals to help make a difference for this worthwhile cause. The Advocator Group is continuously seeking to deliver on its goal to guide clients through a lifetime of change by helping them stay positive and focus on their health throughout the process of waiting for disability or Medicare coverage to become available to them.

Julie Turpin, CEO of The Advocator takes this responsibility seriously, stating, “Sponsoring a booth and walking at the Out of the Darkness event is a terrific opportunity for us to raise awareness of a devastating issue that touches both our clients and our staff, as we all know someone whose life has been impacted by anxiety, depression, or suicide.”

The Advocator Group will be hosting a bright orange booth at the Out of the Darkness Community Walk in Artesani Park in Brighton, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 31st.
