Second generation Howe recognized for leadership in family-owned business

Jaime Howe-Stolis, Finalist in San Diego Women Who Mean Business, Operations Manager, Bill Howe Plumbing in San Diego

She is the next generation of Bill Howe, and will lead the company for the next 35 years.

Bill Howe Plumbing in San Diego is a true family-owned and operated full service company providing the best in San Diego plumbers since 1980. Three of the Howe daughters, one niece, and a brother-in-law continue to work alongside the Howe’s to continue the excellence of the 35 year old San Diego plumbing company.

Jaime Howe-Stolis, daughter of San Diego plumber, Bill Howe, is the Office Operations Manager for the Plumbing division of the company. She oversees the ‘pit,’ the hub of dispatch and customer service representatives in the company-the first line of defense. She joined her family business after graduating California State University, Fullerton, where she attended on a gymnastics scholarship. When she joined the company in 2007, she started at the entry level, answering phones and learning the trade. However, she quickly proved that she is her mother’s daughter and earned the respect of her peers, while implementing new procedures bringing the operations into an efficient and current world.

“Jaime had many great ideas about how to increase productivity and eliminate errors in the overall office operations,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of the Bill Howe Family of Companies. “She redesigned the hub f our company helping to create better customer relationships, more efficient processes, and improve morale in the ‘pit.’”

The Women Who Mean Business (WWMB) Award recognition event is one of the longest running events for women business leaders in San Diego and the country. Hosted by the SDBJ since 1993, the event recognizes women leaders in the community who have a proven record of success, not only in their careers, but also in philanthropic endeavors, mentorships and their personal lives. The 22nd annual Women Who Mean Business Award Ceremony will take place on November 18, 2015 at the Town & Country Resort & Convention Center.

“We could not be more proud of Jaime,” said Bill Howe, San Diego plumber and President of Bill Howe Family of Companies. “But, of course I have always known she would do great things in the company. She is the next generation of Bill Howe, and will lead the next 35 years.”

Jaime has been announced as a finalist; her mother, Tina Howe, Human Resource Director, Amber Baynard, and Business Development Director, Jessica Kalloch of the Bill Howe Family of Companies are all past honorees of the award.
