Drivers who live in areas that see lots of the white stuff during the winter know how invaluable a good set of snow tires are. Summit Racing strongly recommends swapping all-season or summer-rated tires for a set of snow tires like the Bridgestone or Mastercraft snow tires it offers.

Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 Tires
Blizzak tires have been a top choice for winter driving for over two decades. They feature Bridgestone’s Multi-Cell™ tread compound with a “hydrophilic” coating that attracts water, actually drawing water away from the road to better control slippage on ice, snow and slush. Bite particles added to the rubber compound act as microscopic studs that deliver road grip and improve braking on ice.

Blizzak WS80 tires feature an advanced tread pattern with deep tread and grooves. This helps to channel snow, slush, and water away from the contact area for added control. The tires’ rubber compound remains flexible in the cold, delivering better grip and maximum traction for drivers facing wintry conditions.

Summit Racing offers Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 tires in 15, 16, 17, and 18 inch diameters in a variety of sizes. Most are H-speed rated up to 130 MPH.

Mastercraft Glacier-Grip II Tires
Designed for passenger cars, Mastercraft Glacier-Grip II tires provide excellent winter traction without sacrificing dry surface handling or a smooth, quiet ride. The tread pattern features deep lateral and notched circumferential grooves to provide excellent evacuation of water and slush from the tread contact patch. Mastercraft’s D-Squared sipe technology—a dense, zigzag sipe pattern—further enhances winter performance while maintaining good traction in rain.

The Glacier-Grip IIs also have stud pin holes strategically located across the tread contact patch to allow for maximum traction on ice when studded (check local laws before using studs). The tires are T-speed rated up to 118 MPH and are available in 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 inch diameters in a large selection of sizes.

Mastercraft Courser MSR Tires
Mastercraft Courser MSR tires are designed for light trucks and SUVs. They feature patented “snow-groove” technology that provides biting edges. That forces snow into the tread’s outer circumferential grooves to take advantage of the higher traction characteristics of snow on snow versus rubber on snow. Mastercraft’s D-Squared deep sipe technology further enhances winter performance while maintaining excellent wet traction.

The Courser MSR tires also have a new stud pin hole design that improves stud retention, and the number of stud holes has been increased for better traction on ice (check local laws before installing studs). The MSR tires are S-speed rated up to 112 MPH and are available in 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 20 inch diameters in a large selection of sizes.
