Rebrand Washington Football to Hold Educational Forum on September 27 about Damage Caused by NFL Team’s R-Word Name

A group of fans of the Washington NFL team who also want its offensive name to change is holding an educational forum to educate the public and media about the damaging effects of the team’s name. Entitled “What’s in a Name? Should the Name of the Washington Professional Football Team be Changed?,” the event’s panelists include tribal rights attorney Tara Houska and journalist Mike Wise.

WHAT: An educational forum entitled “What’s in a Name? Should the Name of the Washington Professional Football Team be Changed?” Respected panelists will discuss the controversy surrounding the team’s name, and the unhealthy stereotypes and other problems perpetuated by its continued use. After their presentations, speakers will participate in a Q & A session with the audience.
