VideoPropulsion & MultiVirt To Demonstrate Low Cost Satellite & Cable DTV Solutions At SCaT India 2015 In Mumbai
Slinger, WI (PRWEB) October 23, 2015 -- VideoPropulsion® Interactive Television, Inc. (OTC:VPTV) is pleased to announce that it will be exhibiting with New Delhi based MultiVirt India Pvt Ltd at the 24th Annual SCaT India 2015 trade show to be held November 5-7 in Mumbai, India. The two companies announced their collaboration early in 2015 and are unveiling a new range of low cost digital headend solutions that are tailored specifically for India's satellite and cable digital television markets.
The premier offering on display will be a Multivirt integrated headend appliance capable of selectively receiving up to 250 channels of encrypted programming via DVB-S2 satellite, decrypting, transcoding from H.264 to MPEG2 (or MPEG2-to-H.264), re-encrypting, then re-modulating the programs over QAM on a COAX network to DVB-C set top boxes (STB). The single 5U chassis employs VideoPropulsion’s preeminent, high-density MPEG Transcoder and DVB-C QAM modulator (ITU-T J.83 Annex A) PCIe cards.
Another solution MultiVirt has designed allows the local cable operator (LCO) to inject up to 32 of its own local programs onto the COAX cable plant. The local supplied content is encoded into MPEG2 or H.264, then transmitted to the VideoPropulsion EdgeQAM where it is combined with over 120 FTA channels for delivery to the STB. This makes a very affordable 150 Channel Headend for small, remote operators.
Also being displayed will be a single chassis solution for local insertion of up to 80 FTA channels specially designed for the Large MSO who carries signals across India on Fiber lines, as well as transcoding up to 320 streams for CATV and OTT applications.
“The SCaT India 2015 show represents an opportunity to demonstrate our secure digital television delivery solutions for the satellite and CATV markets of India”, said Rakesh Gupta, Founder & Director at MultiVirt. “We are pleased to offer these high-density, low-cost working products in support of the final phases of the digitation of television services in India.”
“Multivirt has successfully leveraged VideoPropulsion technology in support of their efforts to bring affordable digital headends to India”, said Carl Pick, Founder, Chairman and Chief Scientist of VideoPropulsion. "Our continued collaboration with Multivirt demonstrates our ability to solve large-scale DTV deployment problems quickly and cost-effectively, while maintaining end-to-end digital content security.”
