North Shore-LIJ Health System and Professional Physical Therapy Raise over $25K for Children's Miracle Network
Uniondale, NY and New Hyde Park, NY (PRWEB) October 29, 2015 -- Since 2009, Miracle Jeans Day has encouraged groups and individuals alike to trade their traditional work attire for casual clothes to help raise funds for kids treated at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Dressing down may lead to a more comfortable day in the office for you, but on Miracle Jeans Day it also generates hope for families who receive care of Cohen Children’s.
Dozens of Health System offices and businesses throughout Long Island and New York City participated in “Miracle Jeans Day” this fall, to raise money for Cohen Children’s Medical Center. More than $25,000, was raised for Cohen Children’s through this event where participants contributed to the cause. These donations support research, clinical care, the purchase of equipment and supplies, and to off-set uncompensated care, all to improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Companies like Professional Physical Therapy have shown how deeply they care about our community by making a significant impact on Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Professional raised more than $14K for our 2015 Miracle Jeans Day and made Professional Physical Therapy the number one fundraiser for this important program. Most impressively, this year marks the sixth consecutive year they held this top honor and have raised nearly $50,000 overall. On October 20, 2015, Professional visited the hospital to present their 2015 donation. In recognition of their top spot, Professional Physical Therapy’s President & CEO, Adam Elberg, was presented with the “JEANius Award.” Adam Elberg noted “Professional Physical Therapy is particularly proud of the work we have done with Cohen Children’s Medical Center for the past six years. All of our employees and many of our patients are actively engaged in fundraising for this worthwhile cause, and it’s especially heartwarming when we see the results achieved through these efforts and how much the children benefit from it.” Victoria Maccone, Program Director of Children’s Miracle Network at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, states, “We are fortunate to have a charitable company like Professional to raise significant funds each year for Cohen Children’s!”
