The JRS Group Live with viastore Warehouse Management System (WMS) integrated with SAP Business One ERP
Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) October 29, 2015 -- viastore, a leading material handling automation systems and software company, announced that The JRS Group is live with an integrated warehouse management system (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) business management software solution at the company’s facility in Schoolcraft, MI (near Grand Rapids). This is the first site of a planned global rollout to US sites in Georgia, Iowa and Washington. Future global sites include facilities in France, Russia, and Finland.
Based in Rosenberg, Germany, The JRS Group is a global manufacturer of functional fiber and additives, based on re-growing organic plant raw material. With 31 production sites in Europe, Asia, and the US, JRS supports nearly all modern industry fields, including food, industrial and pharmaceutical applications, creating solutions for many product applications and chemical engineering processes for almost all areas of daily life.
The company was looking for a solution to replace manual processes and older software with a more automated tightly integrated SAP Business One solution. “We were looking for a single, global provider for this project that had experience in both raw materials inventory management and finished goods inventory management,” said Peter Obst, IT Project Manager, JRS. “With the viastore solution, JRS gets the fully functional viadat WMS as well as the professional services for the SAP integration all from one source.”
The implementation leverages viastore’s ‘Fast Break’ implementation template approach, which utilizes a common integration interface throughout, for a faster and more accurate overall rollout. This process involves creating a configuration template that supports functionally for all sites, and then having a single, standard integration point to SAP Business One.
The viadat WMS is an intelligent warehouse management software solution that can be configured to meet the needs of multiple sites from the same instance of the software. “The ability to install one instance of the viadat software in Germany, and have many multi-lingual sites using the same software from a centralized point across the globe was also very attractive to us,” added Obst.
For viastore, being selected for such a business & IT strategic project highlights the company’s WMS and SAP integration solution experience, as well as the depth and breadth of functionality. “viastore is one of only a handful of companies with the level of expertise in SAP integration required for this type of project,” said Rod Wyles, head of Software for viastore. “Our ability to implement SAP Business One and have it completely integrated with our viadat WMS gives JRS a single scalable, extensible WMS solution with the required lot control and tracking capabilities enabling us to control multiple sites with one central JRS hosted installation.”
Additionally, viastore offered JRS the possibility to leverage expert training classes for the JRS IT staff, which will enable JRS to do configurations and roll-outs on future sites with a certain degree of independence, which most traditional WMS companies do not offer.
“We are pleased with our partner and our operations continue to gain benefit from our installation and implementation of the viadat and SAP Business One integrated solution,” concluded Peter Obst, IT Project Manager, JRS.
