Still the Love Blooms- 12 short love stories (Indie published by Netmantis) is about the “effects” of our times than what causes it. Consider it like a snapshot of human life in some parts of this world.
“A US Marine who tears apart between his emotions for his family and his uncontrolled anxiety attacks, a Russian soldier who falls in love with a Ukrainian nurse, an African tribesman who struggles to have his unwed wife back in his life, a young receptionist at a local hotel who becomes the gang member of the world’s ruthless Mara Salvatrucha gang of El Salvador…..”
Be it a case of Greece debt crisis, Eastern Ukraine war crisis, or ecosystem destruction caused by illegal mining practices in tiny villages of Southern America, the book captures the true picture of the cities and locations where people are suffering either because of political manipulation, discrimination, marginalization, administrative neglect, or lack of proper socioeconomic support system. Besides giving a glimpse of crises situations of countries of Europe, United States, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Gulf, the book flawlessly depicts the inspiring story of Iceland’s economic recovery from the “Great Recession” of 2008.
“Still the Love Blooms" - 12 short stories about love is an interesting work merging the current events and fiction writing which almost recreates the world and people living in them. The stories remind us of important world events in this passing year and how love and humanity are the only universal emotions that bind us all.” Editor- Arshad Hasnain.
An Excerpt from the book
Her soul shook, and she took several shaky breaths to control a sudden panic whirling around her. She saw the malfunctioned Peugeot rammed into the guardrail, burning all over. Swallowing a sharp blob formed in her throat, she moved ahead by leaps and bounds. Reaching a few yards away from the car, she felt the heat dissipating into the air. The car was engulfed in flames. She could see the car paint blobbing. Tears flooded her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. As she tried to go nearer to the inflamed Peugeot, a strong force pulled her away from the charred vehicle.
