Dare to Golf Celebrates 'Dare Takers' at Nov 2nd Luncheon Featuring Becky Blalock
Roswell, GA (PRWEB) October 28, 2015 -- Dare to Golf, a program that inspires women to get in the game and change their career, is wrapping the end of its first season with its premiere Dare Taker Celebration at Country Club of Roswell on Nov. 2.
Dare to Golf is a flexible golf program that teaches women everything they need to know about golf but were not encouraged (or were too intimidated) to ask. The program is based on the coaching principles of PGA Professional Jackie Cannizzo, who has spent the past 30-plus years teaching golf and leading women’s initiatives.
“There is no program like it,” said co-founder Diane Myer, who joined Cannizzo in launching Dare to Golf earlier this year. "Most options are 1-3 day clinics or private lessons. There is very few if any, 12-plus week program for women to really learn to play and make friends with other professional women for a support network.”
The program's inaugural season drew businesswomen from throughout the metro Atlanta area, culminating in some of women “taking the dare” to play golf in a setting that could further their careers. "Our Dare to Golfers also wowed us by taking the dare and participating in a company tournament, and we were with them the whole time, texting them and cheering them on,” Myer said. "Amazing what women can do when they have the support.”
Former Southern Co. CIO Becky Blalock will be the featured speaker at the Dare Taker Celebration. Blalock is also the best-selling author of “Dare,” which features the core principles that inspired Cannizzo when she was building the Dare to Golf concept:

The Dare Taker Celebration begins at 11:30 a.m. and will showcase the program and this year’s Dare to Golfers. In addition to Blalock’s speech, the event includes lunch and an optional golf clinic for attendees. Myer said the program exceeded its goals in its first year, welcoming twice the number of participants they had projected when the season began. Dare to Golf is building on its programs for corporate clients in 2016.
"Our first year proved to us that the golf world needs us,” she said. "We are rolling out our corporate program that includes golf training and leadership development. We see it is just as important to help women gain more confidence and take a chance — not just by playing golf, but by trying something new."
