New video released by Mercury Marine showcases popularity of pontoon segment in Australia
(PRWEB) October 26, 2015 -- Pontoons are one of the fastest growing boat segments in the world, and Australian boaters are quickly discovering why in this new video released by Mercury Marine.
“We’re seeing it in our sales and there’s been a real increase in the interest pontoon boats are receiving at boat shows,” said Paul Eade, owner of Eade’s Xtreme Marine in Echuca.
Xtreme Marine is a national distributor for Harris pontoons and has been involved in the boat segment for close to eight years.
“The thing about pontoons is that they are incredibly versatile and maneuverable,” said Eade. “With them being new to our market once you get people experiencing the ride out on the water they’re quickly converted. Even hard-core traditional boaties are blown away, especially when they realize they’re good for salt and fresh water.”
Eade is helping to lead the Australia’s pontoon push and says his customers are starting to take notice and are requesting the Harris/Mercury boat package.
“I recommended Verados for my last two pontoons which provide the power you need for skiing and are ultra-smooth and ultra-quiet which is ideal when you’ve got friends and family aboard for a cruise,” said Eade.
“With a pontoon you can fish, you can ski behind it; you can take two or three families aboard and you can get through really tight and twisty areas. They are trailerable and they have a very efficient hull, which can pop you up on to plane at about 2,500 rpm. I found that people also love the Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS) technology because it makes driving the boat so much easier.”
Eade has found Mercury’s enormous range of engine offerings to be a great benefit because there’s always an engine to suit the needs of the consumer and no matter which engine you pick; the customer can be assured that they will get great performance and reliability.
“Pontoons are being bought by everyone from retirees to young families who just want to get on the water and have a good time,” said Eade. “That’s what they get with these boats and that’s what they get with a Mercury engine.”
