Holden's work as an anthropologist has taken her to the most remote places around the world where there are often no ATMs (Bank Machines) and certainly no hotel room safes. She also knows full well that lost identification can not only ruin any trip, but can put a woman in danger, especially in a remote location.
Holden found that money belts were bulky, ugly, hot and obvious and she decided there had to be a better solution to hide cash, valuables, passports and more.
"I tried to buy a comfortable bra that included the features I need for traveling, since it seemed like an obvious solution, but I couldn’t find a good one, so I invented The Travel Bra," said Holden. “Women have been storing stuff in their bra since bras were invented. Finally, The Travel Bra is designed to let women store stuff comfortably and safely.”
Holden teamed-up with top lingerie designer Brenda Barnett, who has 18 years experience working with two of the world's largest lingerie companies, to create the multi-use design, that on top of utility, put comfort at the forefront.
"We designed the Travel Bra as a full support bra with every known comfort feature – soft strong fabric, no scratchy labels, racer-back style with no hooks and eyes to press into the back while seated, flat lock seam stitching, ultra-soft bindings, wide arm holes and wide shoulder straps," said Brenda Barnett, The Travel Bra Designer. "We chose a bamboo and organic fabric that is anti-microbacterial, wickable, machine washable and long-lasting so it's ideal for long days of travel even in tropical climates."
“I wanted a bra that is so comfortable that I could sleep in it if necessary. The drop-down soft mesh pocket expands to hold a passport, phone or roll of cash, and when not in use simply folds back up under the chest binding to be invisible, so that The Travel Bra looks like any other bra when the secret pockets are not in use," added Holden.
