RICHMOND, VIRGINIA | (PRWEB) October 29, 2015 -- During its Heritage Day Celebration held on October 22nd, residents of Lakewood Manor received exciting news. Virginia Baptist Homes (VBH) President and CEO Jonathan Cook announced a plan that will bring significant changes to the Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Richmond’s West End.
“We are looking toward the future and are excited about the expansion which will help Lakewood better serve the needs and desires of future generations of adults over 62. We intend to be Richmond’s top choice for an exceptional senior lifestyle,” Cook said.
While plans are still in the research and development phase, Cook said the organization intends to add new homes with a unique design that has never before been built in the Richmond area. The redesigned community will focus on empowering residents to improve their overall well-being. New wellness programming will be based on the latest research about how to stay healthy and active longer. Innovative new dining choices will cater to a variety of tastes and lifestyles. A new community center with wellness and fitness areas will become a central gathering area, and the campus will see enhancements to its grounds and landscaping, including the proposed addition of a lake. “You’re going to see contemporary design and the kind of high-level of programming and amenities that Baby Boomers expect,” he said.
