YouTube Sensation Flite Test Attending the World's First Drone Technology F3Expo
North Canton, Ohio (PRWEB) October 29, 2015 -- Flite Test, a Lauren International company, is heading south for the inaugural F3Expo in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 12–15, 2015. F3 brings together pilots of all experience levels, aerial photographers and videographers, drone racers, and retailers and manufacturers for a weekend of first person view (FPV) workshops, panels and events.
During F3, Flite Test will compete in the ThunderDrone team relay FPV race, anchored by drone pilot Alex Zvada, as well as the aerial photo and video competition. Flite Test will also host a Drone Buying Guide workshop geared toward FPV beginners and will lead a DIY Drone making session in which they will teach participants how to build their own drones.
“Our focus is education and connection, and meeting other members of the R/C community is the real joy of attending expos like F3,” said Josh Bixler, President of Flite Test. “We’re ecstatic to be part of this one-of-a-kind event.”
Flite Test will be sharing their new educational initiative FT STEM, a comprehensive K–12 curriculum that teaches science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills through R/C aviation. Inspired by the feedback of Flite Test’s virtual community, FT STEM is completely online and focuses on scratch-build aircraft activities.
“Our curriculum developer Jake Marshall did a great job building FT STEM around the engineering design model,” said Austin Furey, head of Business Development at Flite Test. “It’s a problem-solving process with real-world applications, and we use it to design our planes.”
Marshall, founder of the world-renowned MESArc education program and head of FT STEM curriculum development, will also be joining Flite Test in Atlanta. Marshall developed the FT STEM Curriculum based on his own experience as an R/C and STEM educator and will be participating in the G3Robotics and First Robotics panels at F3.
“We wanted the FT STEM curriculum to be flexible enough to be implemented effectively in any classroom,” said Marshall. “It’s designed to provide a structure that addresses national STEM education standards and also be easily modified based on teaching style and class needs at the educator’s discretion.”
In addition to educational panels, F3 will host an FPV race and freestyle competition featuring renowned pilots such as Mr. Steele and Skitzo. F3 will also have a vast exhibit hall with the latest drone models, parts and accessories from FatShark, Readymade RC, AirVus and other prominent manufacturers.
F3 will take place at the Georgia Dome and Georgia World Congress Center. To learn more and to register for the F3Expo, visit http://www.f3expo.com.
