With SchoolMessenger Passport, schools can make it easy for authorized users to access the web-based school administration and learning applications they need in a simple, safe and secure way.

SchoolMessenger, the trusted platform for school community engagement and a part of West Corporation, today launched SchoolMessenger Passport, its new K12 single sign-on (SSO) product.

School districts are increasingly adopting web-based, password-protected school management tools and learning resources. SchoolMessenger Passport allows districts to provide teachers, staff, parents and students with quick and secure access to online learning applications, open educational resources (OER), and a variety of school management and administration software programs using a single sign-on.

SchoolMessenger Passport is built to offer maximum flexibility to K12 districts in need of an SSO solution. The product makes it easy for districts to establish user accounts, define and manage groups, initiate SSO connections with hundreds of applications, and provide role-based provisioning of web resources. Districts can establish connections with open educational resources such as Curriki, HippoCampus, and other free digital content; applications they have already licensed for student learning and classroom management, such as learning management systems and classroom mobile apps; school communications services like the SchoolMessenger Communicate notification system and SchoolMessenger Presence website/CMS product; and school productivity applications like Google Apps for Education and Microsoft Office 365 Education. In addition, SchoolMessenger Passport supports access to student information systems, family portals, school social media tools and more.

Passport also allows districts to extend SSO simplicity beyond the school walls to include parents, who need access to grades and assignments, school notifications, and other web-based school services that may currently require multiple log-ins.

A standard version of SchoolMessenger Passport is available for free to all K12 school districts across North America, even if they do not currently use a SchoolMessenger product.
