EDAWN Honors Sierra Nevada Corporation with Prestigious Founders Award
SPARKS, Nev. (PRWEB) October 27, 2015 -- Recognizing Sierra Nevada Corporation’s (SNC) long history of investing in Nevada’s economy and workforce, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) on Thursday honored SNC with the 2015 Founders Award. The award recognizes companies that have been in business in western Nevada for more than 50 years, and that have achieved significant growth in employment, personal or real property and revenues with the past year.
“It is a huge honor to be recognized by EDAWN for planting our roots here in Nevada a long time ago,” said SNC President, Eren Ozmen. “We are proud to be among the top employers of University of Nevada-Reno graduates and we can say that investing in local talent and innovation has paid off over the long term.” SNC was honored at EDAWN’s Fourth Annual Existing Industry Awards at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, alongside winners in other categories and in industries from cleantech to transportation.
Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Sparks, SNC has grown from a small Nevada engineering firm of 20 employees to a global corporation.
