Sapa Extrusions Americas (Sapa) has achieved tremendous business benefits by successfully implementing Cloud Logistics’ transportation management system (TMS). Sapa Extrusions Americas is a division of Sapa AS, the world leader in aluminum solutions.
“This is one of most successful TMS projects I have ever been a part of,” said Kevin Mitchell, North American Manager of Transportation and Logistics for Sapa. “We have a very extensive network with over 30 facilities. We’ve achieved immediate ROI and expect to see it increase as we leverage even more of the solution. These results were achieved by leveraging the Cloud Logistics Request for Quotation function and by limiting maverick freight purchases across the existing carrier contracts. The system’s flexibility easily adapted to meet our requirements while the truly intuitive user interface has led to rapid user adoption. The go-live was a smooth one-day non-event. Sapa team members were self sufficient the next day and have had no issues navigating the solution because of the modern, intuitive user interface.”
Sapa is a major automotive supplier that heavily leverages flatbed carriers for multi-stop shipments across their network where they utilize many of the leading ERP’s available today. Sapa uses the system to leverage both common carriers and dedicated fleets to achieve the lowest possible cost while exceeding the customer service levels.
Mark Nix, CEO of Cloud Logistics added, “We couldn’t be happier with the results achieved by Sapa. Kevin and the Sapa team are experienced TMS users. The skills and expertise their team provided were vital to this successful project. The next few years will be especially exciting as we explore other ways to work with Sapa."
