CTA Construction completed the new Hill Elementary School in Revere. Described in the media as "beautiful," the 103,000-square-foot school accommodates 690 students in 35 classrooms.

CTA Construction Co. Inc. joined with Revere Public School officials and the community in celebrating the opening of the new Staff Sgt. James J. Hill Elementary School. The new school, for students in early childhood education programs through the fifth grade, opened on time at the start of the academic year.

The 103,000-square-foot elementary school is notable for its large windows and use of natural lighting throughout the building. Described as “beautiful” by the Revere Journal, the Hill school is organized around a central, two-story lobby that shares views into the cafeteria, media center and administration area.

The school’s north wing holds early childhood and first grade classrooms. The other grades, as well as special-needs classrooms and computer labs, are housed in the three-story classroom wing at the south end of the site. The school can accommodate 690 students in 35 classrooms. Each classroom has the ability to use the latest education technology, including video projectors, Smart Boards, and high-speed Internet.

“Through teamwork and a commitment to opening for the new school year, we were able to deliver a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance the education of the children of Revere and stand as a source of pride for the community. CTA Construction would like to thank the city and school officials of Revere, as well as the entire construction team, for working together to make this dream a reality for the students of Revere,” said Jeff Hazelwood, Project Executive with Waltham-based CTA Construction, online at http://www.ctaconstruction.com.

A leader in building high-quality public schools at a competitive price, CTA Construction served as the general contractor for the school. The project was designed by the architectural firm Drummey Rosane Anderson and the owner’s project manager was Hill International.

CTA is a leading construction manager in the academic market, many of which are designed with sustainable elements and to meet the LEED for Schools standards. CTA placed 82nd on the list of Top 100 Green Building Contractors, as ranked by Engineering News-Record magazine.
