Habitat Greensboro’s 2015 Raising Roofs Kicks Off in New Location
Greensboro, NC (PRWEB) October 31, 2015 -- Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro and the Greensboro Builders Association are preparing for this year’s Raising Roofs…Builders for Habitat event, when they will build 5 new houses, from foundation to dedication, in 5 days, November 2 – 6, located in Quail Oaks West subdivision in northeast Greensboro.
The Greensboro Builders Association and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro began building together in 2003 with the first Raising Roofs...Builders for Habitat event. Over the past twelve years, this event has brought together hundreds of builders, suppliers and trade contractors to work side by side to build houses from foundation to dedication in just one week.
John Hodgin, this year’s Raising Roofs...Builders for Habitat Chair, says this about the special qualities of the event, “What is great about the builder’s blitz is a house can be built and finished in one week and know that for one week out of a build schedule, we have given time and support to making a difference in the community. I cannot think of a better way to put God’s love into action than building a safe, healthy and affordable home for a deserving family”.
This year, 17 Greensboro Builders Association members have stepped up to the challenge to build 5 houses in 5 days, bringing the total built by the Greensboro Builders Association up to 55 homes. This entire home building blitz is possible through the generous donation of time, materials and talent from the builders, subcontractors, suppliers and volunteers.
The building teams for Raising Roofs...Builders for Habitat 2015 are:
Team 1: Disney Construction Company, Don Mills Builders, Inc., & Ron Foister Custom Homes, LLC, Precept Construction, & Naylor Custom Homes
Team 2: Windsor Homes & Gary Jobe Builder, Inc., & J&B Builders, Inc.

Quality and affordable homes can rekindle hope, and brings families into their communities. In homes where the walls are strong and the roof is secure, the family inside may focus more on thriving than surviving. The stories of Habitat homeowners contribution to the local community, dreams of a clean, safe home and new opportunities for education is the cornerstone to the American Dream.
