Experts in Elective Single Motherhood to Host Informational Event in Norwalk, CT
NORWALK, CT (PRWEB) October 29, 2015 -- Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), Fairfield County’s largest fertility practice and egg donation center, and Single Mothers by Choice (SMC), an online resource and community for single mothers, are co-hosting an event for single women who are considering becoming mothers. “Single Women Pursuing Parenthood” is a social gathering for single women to discuss and learn about the decisions, concerns and rewards of becoming a mother.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet experts in single motherhood and reproductive medicine: Jane Mattes, LCSW and founder of SMC; Dr. Spencer Richlin, a partner at RMACT and lead physician for SingleMomsToBe.com; Lisa Schuman, LCSW and Mental Health Program Director at RMACT renown for her extensive work with patients considering single motherhood, egg freezing and various infertility treatments. A light brunch will be served while these experts facilitate a discussion about single parenthood; possible topics include choosing a sperm donor, creating a support system and navigating questions from family and friends, as well as considering how to share their stories with children, family and friends.

Single Mothers by Choice (SMC) was founded in 1981 by Jane Mattes, L.C.S.W., a psychotherapist and single mother by choice. Thousands of single women, predominantly in their thirties and forties, have joined SMC since that time and remain with the organization as they strive to be the best parents they can be. SMC provides information, resources, and the opportunity to create a unique virtual and local support network of peers.
