Docker allows users to package and run applications with all of its dependencies as a lightweight container. The container consists of everything that an application needs to run - anything that can be installed on a server, code, system tools and libraries. This means an application will always run as desired regardless of the environment it’s running in and can be deployed in the cloud or on bare metal.
