New App Sends Alert To Selected Group In Emergency Situations, Notifies Authorities
BROOKLYN, NY (PRWEB) October 30, 2015 -- iUDAME, a mobile application that allows users to alert a selected group of contacts and local authorities when one is in an emergency situation, launched today in the Google Play and iTunes App Store. Inspiration for iUDAME came after published neuroscientist Michael Nelson lost his sister in 2010 to a severe heart attack when she was just 32 years old.
The iUDAME app stores up to five personal contacts that can be alerted via text, email and computerized robo-call with the push of a button, as well as local authorities. The user’s GPS location is then shared, allowing emergency personnel and the user’s contacts to locate them or send for help.
“There are too many people who face emergencies alone,” says Michael Nelson, creator of iUDAME. “iUDAME provides that sense of comfort knowing help is just a button push away, so no one ever has to face emergencies alone, but instead rest assured that help is on the way.”
Nelson’s sister suffered a heart attack in May 2010 at the age of 32. Soon after this tragedy Nelson realized his sister’s neighbor was an EMT, and if there was some way she was able to notify him to keep an eye on her or that something was wrong, she may still be alive. This event, and seeing the need for a well-rounded app that combined safety and security features, sparked inspiration for iUDAME.
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a child goes missing in the U.S. every 40 seconds. iUDAME features a parental control tool allowing parents to install and activate iUDAME from their child’s phone or locate them via GPS.
Added features are set to be introduced into the app soon and include Apple Watch integration, voice activation features, and the ability to identify mobile devices in the immediate vicinity when iUDAME is activated in case of crimes in progress.
iUDAME is available to download in the iTunes App Store or on Google Play, and comes with a one-month free trial. Users can then subscribe to iUDAME for $1.99 per month for the basic package and $4.99 for the pro package. To learn more about iUDAME, visit http://iudame.com/.
