Minnesota Business Magazine Honors Ackmann & Dickenson With a Leaders in Health Care Award
Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) October 31, 2015 -- Ackmann & Dickenson (A&D), a web, application development, and digital marketing firm, is pleased to announce they have been honored with a Minnesota Business Magazine – Leaders in Healthcare award in the Software/Web Application category for their custom built mobile application entitled Passport.
“Passport to UMMCH” (University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital), is a mobile app to help patients and families prepare for their visits. Set into motion by certified child life specialists, Passport to UMMCH offers patients, siblings, and caregivers an opportunity to experience and prepare for their visit before stepping foot in the hospital or clinic.
“Passport is a project we are extremely proud of,” says Michael Ackmann, co-founder of Ackmann & Dickenson. “Taking home this award is truly demonstrative of the type of work that can come out of great partnerships. This app is a perfect example of technology being used in a truly purposeful and impactful manner.”
According to Minnesota Business Magazine, awards were given to “honor those who lead, and as the state of Minnesota leads the health care industry. They are recognized as an individual or a company that has supported and accelerated the regional health care industry through business growth in the medical field, corporate philanthropy and workplace innovations.”
Winners were chosen by an internal review team and were announced at the Leaders in Healthcare Awards Ceremony held at the Intercontinental Hotel in St. Paul MN on October 29th, 2015.
A&D created Passport alongside the team at the Masonic Children’s Hospital, contributing both pro bono development and volunteer hours to the cause. It is currently available for download in the ITunes and Google Play stores. A more in-depth view of the app can be viewed here.
“Winning this award is really a testament to the dedication and innovation of the people that brought this app to life,” says Andrew Dickenson, co-founder of Ackmann & Dickenson. “The team at UMMCH have been amazing to partner with and we look forward to continuing that relationship of creativity and technology in the future.”
