Soha Systems Joins SecureWorld Expo Cyber Security Panel
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) November 02, 2015 -- Soha Systems Vice President of Security Mark Carrizosa will be a featured panelist at SecureWorld Expo, the globally focused cyber security conference taking place November 4 in San Jose. Carrizosa will participate in an industry expert session discussing “Cybersecurity – The Human Factor.”
Carrizosa, who was the principal security architect for Walmart eCommerce before joining Soha Systems in early 2015, will discuss how people matter just as much as technology when it comes to ensuring enterprise security. “End users are a very real - and often overlooked - threat to an organization’s security. While they are certainly important to ensuring that businesses run smoothly and effectively, they’re also a prime target,” Carrizosa noted. “There are a wide array of cybercrime opportunities, such as phishing, watering-hole attacks and other social engineering tactics, that do not rely on sophisticated malware or technical vulnerabilities. Instead, they prey on the mindset and behavior of people. An uneducated or careless employee can result in sensitive information leaking and potentially falling into the hands of an attacker.”
During the panel, Carrizosa will share strategies that enable enterprises to successfully, and consistently, mitigate these types of security risks across multiple planes, particularly as cloud adoption and mobile access via the Internet are becoming more ubiquitous. He also will explain why it is now imperative for security teams to move beyond focusing on only technological controls and begin to develop a culture of security-aware employees who can act as an extension of the company’s security program, rather than being a potential threat to the organization.
Carrizosa’s panel will take place from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the Willow Glen III room at the San Jose Marriott.
About Soha Systems
Soha Systems is an innovator of Enterprise Secure Access delivered as a service for data centers and hybrid cloud environments. Our service, Soha Cloud, creates a “cloud DMZ” to protect an organization’s infrastructure from Internet threats while minimizing an organization’s attack surface, effectively making applications invisible to public exposure. Through Soha Cloud, authenticated users are granted micro-granular access to specific applications. Soha Cloud can be deployed as an application's first line of defense in minutes, instead of months, at a fraction of the cost of build-it-yourself solutions. The result is a secure application delivery model that enables a zero CapEx, low OpEx model for critical workloads deployed in public and private clouds.
