Eastern Connecticut Conference Announces Partnership with NFP Sports
Manchester, CT (PRWEB) November 02, 2015 -- NFP Sports, the largest franchise-based high school marketing and fundraising company, recently announced a new marketing partnership with the Eastern Connecticut Conference to help raise funds for the conference through the support of local businesses in the area.
Through the partnership, NFP Sports will increase annual sponsorship revenue for the ECC while branding the conference across multiple platforms. They will showcase the innovative fundraising program and its results through a state-of-the-art mobile app and ECC social media profiles. Additionally, NFP sports has developed sponsorship opportunities for local businesses, such as CorePlus Federal Credit Union, through the mobile app and events and honors such as three seasonal sports banquets, an annual leadership luncheon and athlete of the month awards.
The NFP Playmaker Sports Mobile App was developed for the Eastern Connecticut Conference to connect students, coaches and parents with area sponsors. The ECC app, which can be downloaded for free to Apple and Android devices, includes features such as league schedules, rosters, scores, statistics, a sponsor directory and social media integration for the conference. NFP has created customized mobile apps for several schools, and anticipates signing agreements to produce mobile apps for the majority of the athletic programs in the ECC.
“It is a great honor to be able to work with a conference with the success and tradition of the ECC,” said NFP Sports Co-Founder James Thomson. “NFP Sports will bring together students, faculty and parents of the athletic programs for the league and work with local corporate partners to help support the conference within the Eastern Connecticut community.”
The Eastern Connecticut Conference is comprised of 18 member schools with approximately 5,000 student athletes each year. The league currently sponsors 26 varsity sports and features 24 conference tournaments. The ECC has a geographic footprint from the Massachusetts border to the Long Island Sound and the Rhode Island border to just east of the Connecticut River.
And according to Bryan Morrone, Stonington High School’s Athletic Director and Chairman of the ECC, the partnership with NFP Sports will allow the conference to support each of its member schools and sports programs better than ever before. In fact, he says, NFP Sports has already helped the conference generate more sponsorship money in the first two months of the school year than they brought in for the entire 2014-2015 school year.
“NFP Sports’ comprehensive sports marketing program has provided us with an answer to a question we’ve been trying to answer for years - how do we use mobile marketing and mobile apps to communicate effectively with students, parents and coaches?” said Morrone. “It’s no secret - mobile is the future and the NFP Playmaker App allows us to provide students, parents and coaches with instant access to information about schedules, directions, tournaments, etc. Additionally, it allows us to offer dynamic conference-wide sponsorship opportunities to local businesses looking to reach and influence families using the app. It’s a win-win for everyone!”
Susan Dombrowski, Director of Marketing and PR for CorePlus Federal Credit Union, believes in the power of the program, too. She loves the fact that CorePlus, a small regional credit union with close ties to various eastern Connecticut communities, can support more than a dozen local high schools through one affordable, yet powerful, sponsorship.
“We are thrilled to sponsor the ECC through NFP’s Playmaker App because it allows us to contribute to the welfare and well being of multiple schools throughout eastern Connecticut, as opposed to just one, for the duration of the school year,” said Dombrowski. “In partnering with NFP Sports, the ECC allows its sponsors to connect and engage with local residents in brand new ways through mobile applications. Our ECC sponsorship allows us to deliver information directly to personal mobile devices that will help us cultivate lasting customer relationships. We are proud to support the ECC and look forward to helping countless students and parents prepare for a positive financial future.”
NFP Sports’ overall mission is to save high school athletics from a lack of proper funding. Through its collective fundraising efforts, the company has helped more than 500 high schools raise over $10 million to support their athletic programs. This comes at a time in which there are severe financial threats facing high school athletics.
Thomson says he and his team believe that NFP Sports can make a real difference and help save countless high school sports programs and conferences such as the ECC through several of their fundraising platforms.
