World Champion Tennis Player Mark Vines Appointed Director of Tennis, Fitness and Recreation at Naples Bay Resort
Naples, FLA (PRWEB) November 03, 2015 -- Two-time world tennis champion Mark Vines has been appointed director of tennis, fitness and recreation for Naples Bay Resort in Naples, Fla. In his new position, Mark Vines (pictured at left and below) will manage a recreational and fitness program that is an essential part of the Naples Bay Resort experience. His responsibilities include overseeing the resort’s family recreation activities, aquatics, spa, fitness facilities and tennis operations.
Vines comes to Naples Bay Resort from Oakwood Country Club in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he was director of tennis and athletics for 10 years, managing tennis, aquatics, fitness programs, event management, and retail merchandising. Vines’ club experience also includes a position as director of tennis and aquatics at Columbine Country Club in Littleton, Colo., where he developed fitness and athletic programs for members and guests.
Vines is a former Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) touring pro who achieved high rankings in the tennis world, including a career high of 105 in singles. Highlights of his career include winning a Paris Indoor Open over Yannick Noah, and playing Ivan Lendl in the third round of the U.S. Open. Following a shoulder injury, he coached four top 50 ATP ranked players, including Elliot Teltscher, who made a career high of seven in the world under Vines’ coaching skills. Since entering the Men’s 55 division, he has collected two world championship titles.
He has also had extensive tennis and fitness experience in Naples, serving as a private tennis professional specializing in group and individual instruction for players at the YMCA of Naples, as well as high-level players visiting The Ritz-Carlton. He also co-coached the Community School of Naples’ Boys’ Tennis Team, and acted as head pro and co-director of tennis at the Naples Bath & Tennis Club.
