MakeSpace Expands Partnership with Goodwill of Greater Washington to Make it Even Easier to Give Back This November
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) November 03, 2015 -- Six months after their launch in Washington, D.C., MakeSpace is thrilled to announce an expansion of their partnership with Goodwill of Greater Washington. This month only, all residents in the MakeSpace Washington, D.C. service area can log onto MakeSpace.com and schedule a free Goodwill donation pickup and delivery.
Today through November 30th, MakeSpace will bring one laundry-sized Goodwill x MakeSpace bag, collect unwanted items and deliver them to a local Goodwill facility at absolutely no charge. Those interested in donating will just need to:
- Schedule an appointment at http://www.makespace.com/dc/goodwill
- Have donations ready to fill up the provided MakeSpace x Goodwill bag upon the requested appointment time
- Place your items in the bag, hand it over to MakeSpace and they will deliver your donations to a local Goodwill facility, hassle free
Traditionally, MakeSpace comes to users’ door, collects the stuff they don’t have immediate use for, whisks it away to MakeSpace’s secure storage facility and delivers the items back, whenever needed. MakeSpace stores everything from seasonal clothes, AC units, bicycles and even furniture in the Washington, D.C. area. Now, during the time for giving thanks and giving back, MakeSpace is looking to eliminate any barriers or inconvenience associated with donating and, in doing so, utilize the company’s capabilities to contribute to Goodwill’s mission in the Greater Washington, D.C. area.
“We first launched a partnership with Goodwill NYNJ in July 2014 and saw tremendous success. With each MakeSpace appointment, we also give one Goodwill x MakeSpace laundry-sized bag, collect donations and deliver to a local Goodwill facility. We have collected well over 30 tons of stuff to date,” said Rahul Gandhi, co-founder and COO of MakeSpace. “We have since rolled out the program in Washington, D.C. and are thrilled to take our partnership even further by collecting donations during the entire month of November for free. We hope to help Goodwill make a substantial impact in the Washington, D.C. community during this pre-holiday time of reflection.”
In 2014, Goodwill served more than 3,000 individuals in the Washington, D.C. area through services in employment training, placement and retention, as well as general overall support.
