Hippy Travel Journal Wonders Releases 2.0 and Partners with Artifact Uprising
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 05, 2015 -- Wonders is a hippy iPhone journal app featuring only the best photography and stories about travel and outdoor culture.
Today it is launching "California Edition" of their app and announcing a partnership with Artifact Uprising (a VSCO company).
Users can now purchase photos featured in the app as premium quality prints or HD wallpapers for their iPhones. Since Wonders splits the proceeds with the original authors, this would also allow anyone to make money by selling their best travel shots.
This inspiring travel app celebrates people who feel most at home on an open road. Inspiration is delivered through the outdoor community’s most stunning photography and thousands of short stories, all deeply rooted in celebration of a lifestyle connected with the outdoors. From action shots of rafting through the Grand Canyon to breathtaking mountain vistas on a hike in the Scottish Highlands, Wonders’ contributors capture striking images of man’s relationship with nature. Users can expect to see tales of unique places, casual travelers, shredders of powder, riders of waves and conquerors of mountains. All made to look gorgeous on iPhone (Android version coming soon).
Now, this fast-growing publishing collective wants to open its doors to anyone who has a story to share and produces photography that inspires a sense of awe at the natural world. Starting today, it will also let contributors sell their photography directly through the app.
“Wonders collective produces some of the best nature photography out there,” said CEO Martin Ahe. “We want to give them the financial freedom to stay on the road, keep exploring and keep taking these soul-stirring images."
To accomplish this, Wonders has partnered with Colorado-based custom prints company Artifact Uprising to make some of the photography featured in the Wonders app available for purchase - either as an ultra-thick print with a textured matte eggshell finish ($69); or a large museum quality print in a gorgeous hardwood frame ($299); or as a high-resolution digital download formatted to look incredible on your iPhone ($2.99). Wonders will split sales revenue with the original story author, providing them with the financial means to continue chronicling their travels and potentially stay on the road full-time.
It’s a win-win: photographers able to devote more time to their craft will produce better work while helping to maintain the standard of excellence that sets Wonders apart.
No matter which purchase option users choose, they’ll receive a beautiful work of art and give back to the Earth in the process – portions of every sale go to environmental conservation efforts. This ties back into the company’s founding vision of inspiring people to appreciate the natural world by spending more time outdoors.
