James Earl Jones to Host a New "Voices In America" Piece on Couples Counseling for Public Television
(PRWEB) November 08, 2015 -- VOICES IN AMERICA is a public television show that is hosted by James Earl Jones on various important topics. The newest segment ni development is on couples counseling, which can be provided in one-on-one as well as group sessions. Couples can include married and co-habitating couples as well as those who have just gotten engaged. Some therapists will provide therapy to male/female couples while others specialize in same-sex couples.
According to the Mayo Clinic, marriage and couples counseling is commonly provided by licensed therapists. These are individuals who graduate or postgraduate degrees. Many will also have received credentials from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Sessions are generally short-term and may be provided to both individuals of the couple at the same time or separately, depending on what the situation is. Treatment is then tailored to the needs of the couple.
Couples counseling has been gaining in popularity as people look to obtain a better understanding of their significant other. Counselors and therapists will recommend counseling prior to marriage as well as when there are issues where communication is lacking. VOICES IN AMERICA dives into the topic to provide more insight into what couples can expect from a counseling session.
“Voices In America” is sent to Public Television Stations around the nation as an independent production that can be aired at the stations’ discretion. It is not produced by PBS or APT and has no affiliation with either of these organizations.
