OnCourse Learning Continuing Education Editors to Present at National Association Workshop
Waukesha, Wis. (PRWEB) November 05, 2015 -- ContinuingEducation.com by OnCourse Learning is proud to announce its participation in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Continuing Education Provider workshop Nov. 11 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center. Nearly 100 continuing education providers are expected to attend the workshop, “Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Practice (IPP): Considerations for ASHA Approved CE Providers."
OnCourse Learning’s clinical experts — Kathleen Fahey, PhD, CCC-SLP, clinical speech-language pathology editor for healthcare, and Debora Davidson, PhD, OTR/L, the company’s occupational therapy blogger — will illustrate a case example of how authors from several professional disciplines worked together to create a CE module in their joint presentation, “Creating Interprofessional CE Products.”
“The 45-minute presentation focuses on the creative process, challenges, solutions and working collaboratively in a CE environment,” said Fahey. “Debora and I will share and converse with workshop participants about adapting processes to suit needs of creators and audiences,” she added.
Ellen Fagan, EdD, CCC-SLP, the director of CE at ASHA, also is scheduled to present a session at the workshop to build awareness about interprofessional CE.
Fahey is a speech-language pathologist of 37 years and an editor for speech-language pathology and audiology. She is an emeritus professor and coordinator of the online master’s degree program at the University of Northern Colorado and teaches online courses at three universities.
Davidson is an occupational therapist of 36 years, practicing in a variety of settings. She is the founder and owner of Bright Futures in Focus, a private OT practice in St. Louis, and Authentic OT, a consulting business for OTs. She has served as a faculty member in top-ranked OT programs and is widely published. Her expertise is in problem-based learning and interprofessional course development.
