"Whether you’re going on a long holiday drive or a quick trip around town, it’s important to keep dogs safe and secure in the car at all times. Doing so not only keeps you and your dog safe but other drivers as well."

The new crash-tested K9 CarFence TLC-2X protects vulnerable dogs from sudden car stops and keeps them in their place, reducing driver distraction and possible catastrophe. In addition, it is a more comfortable ride as there are no harnesses - which can actually injure your dog - or confining seats.

AAA reports that over 98 million people traveled during the 2014 holiday season and of those, 91% did so by car, according to the United States Department of Transportation. Although there are no confirmed numbers, one thing is certain – many people bring along their beloved pets as they hit the road.

With so many people on highways and bi-ways, the chances for a car accident go up. Having an unrestrained dog in the car only increases that likelihood. Why? Drivers can quickly become distracted by their dog. For example, having the dog sitting in their lap or jumping from the front to the back seat.

Driver distraction can quickly lead to an accident, which can be dangerous or even fatal for the owner, the dog and other drivers. To cut down on the potential for driver distraction, it is imperative that dogs are secured safely in the car. This also keeps them from running off after an accident and possibly being hit or causing another accident, or from getting in the way of first responders.

"I invented the K9 CarFence to protect my two poodle Pomeranians, Peanut and Little Bear, from sudden car stops after someone cut in front of me and I had to slam on my breaks," said Ira Stahl, Inventor and Chairman of K9 CarFence. "Whether you’re going on a long holiday drive or a quick trip around town, it’s important to keep dogs safe and secure in the car at all times. Doing so not only keeps you and your dog safe, but other drivers as well."

K9 CarFence TLC-2X features include:

  • Crash tested and proven for dog safety first
  • Extra strong, extra durable, and most comfortable for dogs and puppies who are small to medium-sized
  • Great for puppy training
  • For the front or back passenger seat in any car and SUV
  • Protects car seats from dirty paws and scratches

Additional models will be released this month. The TLC-3XL protects extra large dogs while the TLC-1X is for small dogs and can even be used in golf carts.
