George A. Scott, an associate in the Northern Virginia office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will participate in the Sports Financial Advisors Association Annual Conference Nov. 4-6 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
On Thursday, Nov. 5, Scott will speak in the session titled, “Venture Capital and Raising Money: Protecting the Brand,” panel at 10:30 a.m. He will also speak on the “Networking and Branding” panel at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6. The conference will focus on various topic areas, including insurance and disability, psychology of the athlete, estate planning updates, financial literacy programs, tax updates, franchising and starting a business, venture capital and angel investors, and liability protection for athletes.
Scott focuses his practice on counseling public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, fund formations, and venture capital transactions in the industries of sports and entertainment, technology, health care, and government contracting. Utilizing his experience as a former Syracuse University football player, Division 1 football coach, and entertainment executive, Scott provides legal counsel to professional athletes, entertainers, sports-related companies, and entertainment companies seeking to develop, define, and monetize their brands through equity endorsement, merger and acquisition, venture capital, and private equity transactions.
