La Jolla, CA (PRWEB) November 04, 2015
The iconic La Valencia Hotel is partnering with tech start-up LiveSocialCastTM for a SoCal hotel first – live video streaming of events showcasing the hotel’s $12 million reimagining. The broadcast will include the unveiling of the new SKY SUITES, as well as an interactive cooking demo with the hotel’s Chef James Montejano. LiveSocialCast will stream three broadcasts between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. PST Thursday, November 5. Viewers worldwide can watch via Periscope and participate in an interactive experience not found in traditional television coverage.
The hotel’s community of guests and supporters – including followers on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – will be encouraged to tune in for the special broadcast via email and social media outreach. The platform for this broadcast will be Periscope, an App that was launched by Twitter in March of this year. The platform makes interaction between the broadcaster and audience possible through its comment function. Viewers can tap on the screen to “Like” what they’re watching, zoom in on the map to see the exact location of the broadcast, or simply swipe the screen to become a follower of the broadcaster.
“Periscope is revolutionizing broadcasting and how brands connect with customers,” explains LiveSocialCast CEO Adam Jacobs. “By embracing this exciting new medium, the marketing and PR team at La V have established themselves as innovators in the hospitality space. La Valencia is a beautiful property with an amazing staff and we are excited to share its story.”
“We’re always very proud when La Valencia is featured on a T.V. news program,” says the hotel’s Managing Director, Mark Dibella. “But what drew us to this idea is that in this case, La V will be its own broadcaster, sending out its unique show to the world. For instance, right now we have nearly 14,000 followers on La V’s social media channels and the Chef has thousands of Facebook friends who enjoy his lively, regularly updated posts. But, imagine how many more folks around the world can get to know La Valencia with international events like these!”
Today, brands have moved away from traditional advertising in favor of connecting with consumers in deeper and more meaningful ways. The focus is on conversations and letting consumers help shape the brand story. Live video streaming, also called socialcasting, is a medium that capitalizes on the interactive experience viewers crave.
