Tech firm spreads its roots; VPN provider PIA, sponsors Earth Day
(PRWEB) November 05, 2015 -- A new partnership has grown between two businesses operating in very different fields. One is Private Internet Access, a technology-based VPN provider, and the other, Earth Day Network--the company that’s not just behind "Earth Day" but is noted for major involvement in the passage of environmental policies and programs for world betterment.
Private Internet Access became a global sponsor to the Earth Day Network recently in addition to joining the Canopy Project--a campaign to plant trees where they will help needy communities. For every server the company uses, it has pledged to donate a planted tree via the Earth Day Network's efforts. Upon entering this agreement, 2,867 trees were planted on PIA's behalf, with 15 more planted each following month as the company continues to grow.
The Earth Day Network is planting trees everywhere from Uganda and Haiti to impoverished areas in the United States. These trees help provide food, energy and income, as well as helping to counter the effects of climate change and the impacts of degraded or eroded soils.
Jonathan Roudier, CEO of PIA said "Our involvement with Earth Day Network has been very rewarding. It has been our pleasure to give something back to the world for what we've gained and continue to gain. Helping to increase the world's health and benefit needy communities is a rewarding experience and we will continue to do so as we grow."
Private Internet Access is a rapidly growing company offering VPN service that allows people to browse the web safely and privately without worrying about prying eyes. A tech-savvy, energy conscious company linked to the pulse of our generation, PIA uses the most energy efficient "green" laptops available among its employees. All of its data centers are energy efficient, using solar panels, wind farms and advanced thermal design to reduce consumption. The company even plans to give away a Tesla model S in the near future to raise awareness and interest in electric cars.
