Session Explores Impact of Marketing on Enrollment and Student Retention

Marketing isn't just something institutions should rely on to get prospective students in the door. Rather, it plays a critical role in improving student retention as well. In a breakout session at UPCEA's 24th Annual Marketing and Enrollment Management Seminar, leaders from Brenau University and Helix Education will help educators leverage strategic marketing initiatives along the entire student lifecycle, engaging and motivating students from start to finish.

“It is imperative that we set students on the path to success during the marketing and enrollment process. Dr. Toombs will team up with Helix Education's Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Kari Kovar, to lead this insightful session. Attendees will learn how to effectively market to prospective students in order to ensure student-program fit, as well as ways to engage with students throughout their studies. Additionally, attendees will benefit from tactical examples and strategies currently used by Brenau University to help improve retention. And finally, session leaders will review the data that institutions should collect up front in order to deliver targeted, consistent student support, as well as communication and coaching strategies that resonate.

"The number of students who drop out, even after only one term, is cause for concern. Marketing can serve a far greater good when it comes to retaining these students.”

UPCEA assembles academic thought leaders, program directors, and marketing and enrollment practitioners to explore trends in adult student recruitment and retention. The line-up includes high level, strategically-focused presentations, as well as sessions which spotlight the tactical components of marketing and enrollment management. The seminar runs November 4th - 6th in Denver, CO, and "The Impact of Marketing on Enrollment and Student Retention" takes place on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
