Totem Launches 2.0 With Concierge Service, Follow Button
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) November 04, 2015 -- Totem today announced the launch of an all new 2.0 version of its hosted press page, the standard for treating press right. Totem 2.0 debuts a new full-service business model. Each customer gains access to a dedicated concierge team, which will design and manage their press pages proactively.
Customers can also request changes or additions to their Totem anytime. This new model is accompanied by a pricing change as well. New customers will pay a $99 setup fee and $9/month thereafter. Existing customers may choose to remain on the old version of Totem for free, or upgrade at a significant discount.
Totem currently powers press pages for over 1,000 businesses, ranging from small startups to large, publicly traded companies. Totem 2.0 was developed based on extensive work with those customers, as well as ongoing conversations with journalists, to better understand their evolving needs and preferences.
“Our customers have been giving us a single piece of consistent feedback this year,” said Josh Jones-Dilworth, co-founder of Totem. “They love Totem, but say they would love it even more if we just ran their press page for them outright. Today, we’re giving them exactly what they asked for.”
The company also announced several new features that dramatically increase customizability and usability on every press page. Along with the new service model, Totem is launching an entirely new press page design, including enhanced customization tools for branding and images, improved publication logo handling and a beautiful new vertical layout with no tabs or widgets. The new design makes it easier than ever for press to get the information they need, when they need it.
The most notable new addition to the page is the Follow button. To start, press who choose to follow a given company on Totem will receive an email when a big change is made. Adding a new article, executive team member, press release or blog post will trigger an alert. These emails will be bundled into a digest so that no more than one email per week per company is sent. The follow button creates a passive yet pragmatic way for press to keep up with their beat.
“Today PR is mostly spammy push,” said co-founder Kirk McMurray. “What if journalists could for the first time pull the information they are most interested in? If enough press elect to follow companies' press pages, we unlock the possibility of a novel, stream-based source for news.”
Finally, Totem is adding the ability to install any analytics package on each Totem page. Knowing what pieces of information and which collateral visitors interact with most is invaluable to PR people worldwide.
According to Experian’s 2015 Digital Marketer Report, marketers’ top-priority for 2015 was branding and “telling our story so we stand out against competitors.” As a result, the press page is playing more important role to shape the stories that appear in the news.
As marketers fold new social media, influencer relations and content marketing disciplines into their campaigns, they’re stretched thinner than ever. Totem’s concierge service takes weekly maintenance of press pages off marketers’ to-do lists, freeing them to invest in the areas where they can make the biggest impact.
The new version of Totem is available today. Pricing is simple, with a $99 setup fee that includes full page design and creation, and just $9 per month for the ongoing maintenance, updates and support from Totem’s concierge team.
Existing Totem users can continue to use the 1.0 application, or the concierge team can import their press page into Totem 2.0 where they will have access to the new design and all new features. The setup fee will be waived for existing customers, who will also get their first 3 months free.
Highlight features of the new Totem include:
• Dedicated concierge and support service from experienced marketers to create and maintain your press page
• A “Follow” button so press get automatic updates when you make a major change
• Redesigned press pages, including a beautiful new layout for resources, collateral and recent news
• Support for Google Analytics
• Expanded resource section and clean placement of content including blog posts, press releases and recent coverage
