Restaurant technology startup BlueCart today announced the launch of their namesake, mobile app and web platform. Previously working with some 3,000 restaurants and suppliers under the brand name Improvinia, BlueCart’s newest application further empowers restaurants to efficiently and conveniently place error-free orders with all their suppliers in one click, automatically organizing, sending and tracking them in real time. In an industry first, the app is offered at no charge to both restaurants and suppliers; BlueCart generates operating revenue via paid advertising on the app.

BlueCart’s development team spent more than two years testing, and generating user feedback to refine the app’s capabilities. CEO Konstantin Zvereff noted that, “Chefs need what they need, when they need it for their patrons, and suppliers who want that business have to be able to respond efficiently and effectively. We’ve spent thousands of hours working closely with chefs and suppliers to ensure that our app is tested and proven to address every want and need that restaurants and their vendors have for 24/7/365 online ordering and order management. Chefs and wholesalers alike use BlueCart to communicate directly with each other, eliminating time spent preparing, sending and receiving information about multiple orders via voicemails, emails, texts and even faxes. BlueCart also enables them to instant message each other alongside orders in the app and to review ordering history.

“We used to deal with paper receipts,” says Lena Laskaris of Alexandria, VA-based Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which owns 14, prominent, D.C. area restaurants with more on the way. “It was sad. BlueCart saves me at least six hours per week.”

BlueCart Inc. recently raised $4M in funding from BlueRun Ventures, and is using the funding to both build out new features for its users and to continue expanding operations nationwide.
