Brooks Institute Launches International Partnerships
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) November 06, 2015 -- Brooks Institute has signed agreements with two respected international schools launching efforts to promote cooperative problem-solving, to increase understanding of global culture, and to enhance each student’s graphic communication and filmmaking skills.
Partnering with the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication and the “Hands On” Malta School of Filmmakers, Brooks Institute will both accept students from these institutions and send students to the two international campuses. Along with coursework, students will be able to participate in field trips and excursions to enhance the cultural exchange experience.
“We’re very excited to give students the opportunity to learn about other cultures and exchange knowledge on the creative crafts of graphic communication and filmmaking,” said Edward Clift, president of Brooks Institute. “Through these partnerships, the excellent education offered at Brooks Institute will continue to thrive and expand to include global perspectives.”
The agreement between Brooks Institute and the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication outlines a program where faculty members from each school will travel to teach courses at the partner institution, students will receive a certificate of completion for courses taken, and staff will coordinate to host exchange students in residence at the partner campus.
With “Hands On” Malta School of Filmmakers, Brooks will both explore the potential of joint programs between the two institutions, and collaborate in a knowledge exchange with expert faculty members from each campus. Faculty will travel to the partner institution for the purpose of teaching, conducting academic research, and to cooperate in organizing academic conferences on issues of mutual interest. Faculty will also exchange written and published academic materials.
“This exchange of knowledge will greatly benefit the Brooks’ campus and Ventura community,” said Clift. “Our experienced faculty members will share techniques with BIGC and Hands On and our visitors from Beijing and Malta will share with our students. Our faculty and students will be eager to bring their learnings to the Ventura community to spark a discussion of international cultures.”
These agreements are part of Brooks’ continued efforts to provide students with a high quality, supportive educational experience. Together with their parent company, Green Planet, Brooks is focused on building global citizens, facilitating international education exchange programs and providing other cross-cultural connections for students of all ages.
