What is Floating? You have not lived until you’ve spent an hour floating on your back in a pod of warm water containing 1000 pounds of Epsom salts. If you had any aches and pains going in, you don’t have them coming out. The water is about 93 degrees, and the experiences is spa-like. TrueREST’s pods have a futuristic design with optional soft colored lights and soothing music. You get naked (or into a swim suit), climb into the pod and (unless you are claustrophobic) you close the pod over you. Its like returning to the womb. After a few minutes, you realize you really will be held up by the salts and you allow yourself to relax into the water.
Testimonials. "Ten years of chronic, constant pain and in one hour I finally got relief! Each time I’ve come back my pain levels are lower than the time previous and the relief lasts longer after each float. ‘Every time I come out of the REST Pod my pain levels return to zero or near zero! WOW! Thank you True REST."
“This is my favorite discovery of something new and exciting in quite some time and am so glad that I found it! I have quickly become a HUGE fan of True REST! I did a two-hour float last night and continue to be impressed with the quality of my experience. I always go with the intention of staying awake because I use this as meditation time. I can sleep at home. The quality and level of my meditation experience only gets better with each float. I continue to sing the praises of this establishment to anyone who will listen and my hope is that they will experience first hand like I have."
History Floating was invented by Dr. John Lilly, a neuro-psychiatrist who thought that sensory deprivation would be an effective way to make the brain relax and rejuvenate. He argued that if all stimuli are cut off to the brain, it would go to sleep. Lilly decided to test this hypothesis and, with this in mind, created an environment that totally isolated an individual from external stimulation. From here, he studied the origin of consciousness and its relation to the brain. His tanks, however, were not user-friendly, and the Janickis decided to offer more of a spa experience, with comforting amenities and specially designed individual float pods.
