Avitus Group’s Senior VP of Finance “Cooks for a Cure” in Relay for Life Celebrity Chef Event; Event Aims to Raise $10,000 for American Cancer Society
Billings, Montana (PRWEB) November 05, 2015 -- The inaugural Men Cooking for a Cure event pairs favorite local chefs in Billings, Montana with the communities’ favorite local celebrities in an effort to raise $10,000 for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life of Yellowstone County is hosting the event and paired Avitus Group’s CFO, Steve Bentley, with Chef Ashley Robichaux of Cajun Phatty’s. Bentley and Robichaux join the ranks of fellow celebrity teams such as KTVQ’s (CBS) Meteorologist, Ed McIntosh & TEN restaurant; KULR8 (NBC’s) Sports Director, Chris Byers & Commons 1882 restaurant; and Jason Harris of Hot 101.9’s “The Big J Show” & Walkers restaurant. In addition to Bentley’s CFO work, he is a weekly radio co-host and business interview guest on “The Morning Wake Up Report” with host Scott Fredricks on News Talk 730AM.
Bentley and Robichaux invite the community to attend the Men Cooking for a Cure event November 11th, 2015, at the Billings Depot and vote for their Jambalya. Votes are tallied by the overall tips collected, and the celebrity team with the most tips is awarded the honor of being named the top celebrity chef team.
“Ashley is a fantastic chef and it would be an honor if our Jambalya takes the prize, but even if we don’t win, we’ve helped raise money for the great work of the American Cancer Society, and everyone wins in that scenario,” says Avitus Group Senior Vice President of Finance, Steve Bentley.
Relay for Life of Yellowstone County ranked 8th in the nation this year among more than 4,500 relays. The relay raised a total of $622,556. Team Avitus Group was among the top fundraising teams, contributing more than $6000 at the “gold” donation level.
"It is wonderful to have local businesses like Avitus Group stepping up to help finish the fight against cancer in our community. We couldn’t have the amazing relay we do without both their sponsorship and team fundraising efforts," says Kent Ickes, Relay for Life of Yellowstone County, Community Manager.
“Avitus Group is happy to help give back to the communities we live and work in, and Relay for Life is a cause we definitely support,” says Avitus Group Public Relations Manager, Dianne Parker.
Doors open on the 11th at 5:00 p.m. with a no-host bar happy hour and silent auction. The event starts at 6:00 p.m. and will showcase a reality TV show- style video featuring behind the scenes footage of the celebrity chef teams cooking their dishes. Tickets are $30 per person and help raise money for the American Cancer Society.
