Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) November 06, 2015
Three Canadian companies came together to develop the world’s first Internet-connected hockey net that will be on display at the Ottawa Maker Faire 2015, Canada’s first featured Maker Faire.
The hockey net will demonstrate the functionality of Fantasy Scoreboard Inc’s new Internet-connected (IoT) NHL hockey scoreboard, an exciting project that two local Ottawa product development companies Design 1st (hardware) and Macadamian (cloud and apps) brought to life.
"It felt like a seamless process working with these two companies, they manage themselves, connected the teams when needed and the job got done right the very first time, going from concept to market ready in under 5 months" - Will Nault, President, Fantasy Scoreboards Inc.
Fantasy Scoreboard’s internet connected scoreboard will be integrated into the hockey net and updated dynamically through a Wi-Fi connection. Ottawa Maker Faire attendees will get to see how this one-of-a-kind system works and try out their shooting skills to be entered into draws for Senator tickets and other prizes.
Although the hockey net is only a fun prototype at this point, it highlights the impact that connected devices will soon have on almost everything in our daily lives.
Join us at Ottawa Maker Faire to learn more about how local design companies and creative Canadian entrepreneurs are leading the Internet of Things revolution.
